Lining things up in rows, color coordination, picky eater, only wanting to watch one or two shows/movies over and over again... these are normal and expected of our Sawyer.
But....
One amazing thing we didn’t know he’d ever be able to do is...
Communication!!
Now yes he can say certain words (only after 2 years of speech) and his vocabulary has been growing like a weed over the last 6 months.
But we never knew if he’d get to the point of having communication back and forth with us.
As of a few weeks ago... he can!!
Simple things like “where’s daddy?”, or “mommy, where’s red truck”, or what he said this morning upon waking up, “there’s light in that house, over there!”... shocked and amazed at his achievements!!
We pray everyday (constantly) for all 3 of our boys to be able to over come any challenges they may face.
They say more tears are shed over answered prayers vs unanswered.
They’re right!!!!
Sawyer has grown and improved in so many ways over these last two years since diagnosis. It’s beautiful and we are always shedding tears (sometimes ugly crying 😭) over ever single achievements and improvement!
There is nothing “too small” not worth celebrating!!! 🥳
So, while we have hard days and tough moments; every single tiny and large moment filled with improvements... those moments I will dwell on more. 💙
